The Yiddish Fantasy is a specially commissioned new suite by pianist and composer Jon Stein. The music reflects the relationship between Jewish music - particularly klezmer - and modern jazz. Jon Stein trained at the Guildhall School of Music. With the Klezmernauts he introduced Jewish folk music to the South West. He has composed and arranged for The Birthday Band and contemporary big band Ultrasound and accompanied leading jazz soloists such as Julian Arguelles, Don Weller and Pete King.
